The cast stone Large Versailles Vase from Haddonstone is an impressive garden feature, making this impressive planter an ideal focal point in a garden or landscape. The Large Versailles Vase is a handsome campana-shaped (or bell-shaped) vase with gadrooning to the bowl. The Large Versailles Vase is identical in proportion to the Small Versailles Vase A690. This large garden planter is perfect for plants and flowers.

The Palace of Versailles is possibly the most famous royal château in France. Beginning in 1661, the architect Louis Le Vau, landscape architect André Le Nôtre, and painter-decorator Charles Le Brun began a detailed renovation and expansion of the château. The court of Versailles then became the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of French Revolution. Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but also as a symbol of the absolute monarchy associated with the Ancien Régime in France.

The gardens of Versailles are landscaped in the classic French Garden style perfected by André Le Nôtre. In addition to the meticulous manicured lawns, parterres of flowers, and sculptures are the fountains, which are located throughout the renovated garden. Haddonstone’s impressive cast stone Large Versailles Vase, featuring a campana or bell shape, was inspired by the gardens of Versailles. The bold, clean lines of the imposing garden urn make it an ideal focal point in a garden whether planted or unplanted.
